Why are vaccinations important?

Vaccinations are important for your pet’s health and defense, and they help to avoid viral infections including Parvovirus, Parainfluenza virus, Distemper, Lyme disease, Panleukopenia, Feline Leukemia Virus, and Rabies.

When should my pet get vaccinated?

Puppies, kittens, and other young animals with underdeveloped immune systems need vaccinations more than anybody else. Veterinary immunizations are usually started around 6-8 weeks of age and then repeated at intervals throughout your pet’s life, depending on the vaccine. Our veterinarians will establish the best immunization schedule for your pet.

How are vaccines administered?

Vaccines work by exposing the immune system of the pet to inactive or tiny doses of a certain type of bacterium or virus. Vaccines are given by subcutaneous injection (under the skin), oral administration, or intra-nasal administration, depending on the vaccination.

Vaccinations are preceded by a consultation and checkup with one of our veterinarians to ensure that your pet’s health is in good enough condition to receive them. To guarantee effective protection, proper and timely administration is required.
